I love Silverlake, CA. This city always has the coolest shops and restaurants.  This was a weird architecture structure near Sew LA.

Ok, I cheated...I didn't take this picture, but I wanted to share it. My dad is the  second tallest little boy. The others are my uncles.

Rainbow cookies!!! I grew up eating these delicious pastries. My grandpa and mom worked at a bakery and I would always beg them to bring me some. I only know two bakeries that make these, Bea's Bakery and Victor Benes in Tarzana. The bakeries are right across the street from each other. From my understanding, one of the owners stole the recipe from the other. LOL.

This is my grandma. She is tons of fun. I took this picture while she was paying respects to the Virgin Fatima, who is visiting our house. I really don't know how normal it is to have religious statues visit your house, but we do it often. Is it a Mexican thing? or Catholic thing? ...I don't know....

Another sewing project.

I tend to get lost... a lot.....

Well....not lost.... because I know where I am....I just tend to get off course a lot. These occurrences happen because I tend to day dream or in this case I was trying to find a cd.....I know I don't belong on the road, but when I am not working, I'm driving. I have a long commute, so I get bored....But I digress. So, I was supposed to get the 5 north while driving on the 10 west, but instead kept driving. Oops. I drove around a little until I saw the 110 Pasedena and remembered that it connected to the 5 fwy and that it had awesome tunnels! I saw a photo opportunity. It wasn't the best picture on account that I was driving (I know...another driving violation). However, I think it looks pretty cool once it has been edited. Bask in its light randomness.

More night shots

I think night pictures are becoming my favorite past time. Well, actually I don't have much of a choice, since I always get out of work late. It rained today....an anomaly for southern california. However, after the rain the sky was beautiful even at 8 pm. I took these pictures using my nikon D3100. Once again I used the long exposure option to capture as much light as I could. There was also a lamp shining nearby, which contributed to the pine trees' vibrant colors. I decided to give Picasa a try in order to edit the pictures. I really liked the results and it is a lot easier to use than Adobe photoshop. 

I was standing on my dad's pick up truck bed, when the neighbor stopped by our house.  He must have thought I was completely daft for standing in the cold with my tripod...but who visits at such an odd hour? Enjoy.

I don't really believe in ghosts, but I enjoy creating them. This is me being creepy and weird on my front lawn. It was dark out, but I left the shutter open for a longer exposure. I think the vibrant colors are cool.

I always enjoyed watching dye diffuse in water. I tried being artsy fartsy by  capturing these photos....Umm...I don't know if I was successful.

My aunt came home with this surprise. I was so excited because it was in perfect working condition. If you haven't noticed, I la la la love the muppets.

I had peruvian food for the first time at a place called Inca Trails, but I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of my dish. I remembered when dessert came along. It was dark inside the restaurant, which is why it is so dark.

I was really mean to someone the night before. I said and did somethings which I felt really bad afterwards. So in order to make it up to that person I made this book. I ended up apologizing and gave him the book...I think things are ok...LOL.

It was an unusually clear night in the valley. Many stars were visible and I was  curious to see if I could capture them with my dSLR. It took me a few tries but here you go.

I am an only child, but these two are the closet to a sister and brother I will ever have. I am always happy to have these two around and you can always guarantee loads of laughs when we're together.

It was my day off and I don't get much sunlight nowadays.  It was such a beautiful morning, so I went for a walk.  This picture was taken at one of the nurseries near my house. We have several nurseries and community gardens nearby.

I love books and I especially love me some Agatha Christie.  Now-a-days, people purchase their books digitally, but I'm old fashioned and rather have the hard copy. I also have a confession, I will buy multiple copies of the same book if I like it a lot. The Then There Were None novel is my second copy. Tee hee.

Here I am giving the kitchen another try. I successfully made carrot cake from scratch. However, I tried making gravy for some swedish meatballs that I wanted to take to work, but it came out too watery. Thankfully my mom saved the day by adding flour. It's really sad, I am really incompetent when it comes to the kitchen....sigh.
